Over the course of this 4 module programme (x4 two day blocks + 1 study day), you’ll learn the processes involved in planning, implementing and evaluating your organisation's occupational health and safety policies.

This programme is approved by the New Zealand Qualifications Authority under section 249 of the Education Act 1989, and Employers’ and Manufacturers’ Association (Northern) Incorporated Trading as EMA Training is accredited to provide it under section 250 of the Act.

Who can qualify for the subsidy

To access the subsidy for registered training, a business customer must meet the following criteria. They must:
  • have undergone a discovery session with a Regional Business Partner growth advisor
  • have fewer than 50 full-time equivalent employees
  • be registered for GST in New Zealand (this applies to one-to-one training only)
  • have a New Zealand Business Number (NZBN)
  • be operating in a commercial environment; and
  • be a privately owned business, or a Māori Trust or incorporation under Te Ture Whenua Māori Act 1993 or similar organisation managing Māori assets under multiple ownership.

Who Should Attend

Proudly brought to you by EMA Northern this programme is perfect for safety supervisors, coordinators or team leaders and is suitable for those with a minimum qualification of National Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety - Workplace Safety (Level 3) or equivalent work experience.

Holders of this qualification will be eligible to apply to the New Zealand Institute of Safety Management (NZISM) to support their application for Practitioner accreditation.
