Come along to this hui to find out about our latest work regarding Aotearoa New Zealand's emissions reduction target and emissions budget.

He Pou a Rangi Climate Change Commission is seeking input on key climate initiatives in Aotearoa New Zealand. They are consulting on:

  1. Draft advice for the fourth emissions budget period (2036–2040) and potential revisions to previous budgets.
  2. A discussion document on the review of whether emissions from international shipping and aviation should be included in the emissions reduction target:
  3. A discussion document on the inaugural five-yearly review of the emissions reduction target.

Hosted by the Sustainable Business Council (SBC) and Business NZ, this session is an opportunity to:

  • Hear from Climate Change Commission Chief Executive Jo Hendy and Commission staff on the development process.
  • Learn about the evidence-based work in the discussion documents and draft advice from the Commission.
  • Engage in discussions regarding implications for businesses and New Zealand.
  • Learn how to make a submission as part of the consultation.

This is a valuable opportunity to participate in shaping climate discussions and advocacy in Aotearoa New Zealand.
